This year we had a record number of visitors, fantastic weather and some absolutely brilliant seafood! We got some great snaps at the Festival, so don’t forget to check out our Facebook page!
A big thank you to everyone that helped to bring the event together and to everyone that attended! Because of you guys, we are able to donate to the Lions Clubs, Blue Light and Youthtown.
See you next year!
Great news for all you Oyster lovers! The Auckland Seafood Festival has just purchased Bluff Farmed Oysters! They are being harvested today, and will arrive at the Festival first thing Saturday, fresh and tasty as ever!
So if you’re an Oyster connoisseur, make sure you stop by Bollinger Champagne and Oysters – it’s decadence in an Oyster shell…
And you may already be in the draw! To show our appreciation to all the Festival attendees, all tickets purchased
(including VIP) between November 2012 and 25th January 2013
automatically go in the draw to win some great prizes!* Here’s what’s up for
- 9 Double Passes to the Auckland Seafood School (valued at $180)
- Metro Magazine Subscriptions
- Taste Magazine Subscriptions
- A 3-hour harbour cruise for 14 people aboard the ‘Wild Duck’ launch, with finger food and champagne provided, courtesy of Blue Light (valued at $3k)
The Auckland Seafood School is back again with more exciting demonstrations in the Electrolux Cooking Theatre! Running every hour from 11.30am each day, the expert chefs will inspire you with cooking tips, tricks and recipes.
One of the stand-out chefs attending this year is Nici Wickes, chef and presenter of the successful TV show, World Kitchen. As a cookbook author, astute restaurant critic and food writer for VIVA, her vast knowledge about food spans anything from street food to Michelin star restaurants. This is a show you won’t want to miss!
If you’re heading down to the Festival this Anniversary Weekend with the kids, don’t forget to check out Kids Gone Fishin’. From 9am – 11am on Saturday 26th and Sunday, 27th January, you can join Graeme Sinclair for fishing, face painting, music and prizes! Brett McGregor will also be there manning the BBQ.
The event is absolutely FREE, but you will need to get a ticket online to secure a spot for the kids. Just go to the ticket section below and click on the BUY TICKETS button. You only need to get tickets for the kids attending (not the adults). See the Programme section for more info!
This year, the Festival welcomes two new ambassadors, Brett
McGregor and Graeme Sinclair. As Masterchef NZ’s first winner, Brett has a
long-standing love affair with food from around the world and will be sharing
his knowledge with Festival goers in the Electrolux Cooking Theatre.
Gone Fishin’ star, Graeme Sinclair will be manning Blue Light’s Kids Gone Fishin and making appearances around the Festival.
The event promises an array of our best seafood, local beer and wine, amazing Kiwi musicians and entertainers, master cooking classes, celebrity chefs, and even a dash of education for the kids.
Lapping up the sun surrounded by great food and entertainment – sounds like a pretty good way to spend the long weekend right?
